The location of Hale Kai is unbeatable: a quiet stretch of a little beach with mostly gentle surf and awesome sunset views. The bedrooms were large and comfortable each with a bathroom and access to a large lanai. The kitchen was fully equipped with new appliances and all the dishes and cutlery you will ever need. Large Washer and Dryer appear new and can handle full loads (plenty of detergent was provided) if you need it. It's also right down the road from a nice shopping center with restaurants, shops and a Longs Drug store. We loved staying here! It was the 3rd time we stayed at Baby Beach (Hale Ohe and Stonehouse previously). GIR staff were great - checking in often to make sure everything was going well and to see if we needed anything. Was it slick and fancy? Not really. Was it comfortable with a solid Hawaiian vibe? Yes!

Perfect place for our family vacation. We have small kids so the convenience to the beach and the big grassy backyard was perfect for them! Sigh inducing. The lanai was an oasis, the bungalow was perfectly retro, yet modernized and so comfortable. Excellent layout, the kitchen was super functional and well kitted. Minor quibble would be that some beach goers use the lawn for beach access.

We stayed here for a week in September celebrating our 10th anniversary and had a great stay. The house was one of the cleanest vacation rentals I have ever stayed in including a spotless grill-which is a tough thing to accomplish after a busy summer. We had one minor issue we needed assistance with and Garden Island Rentals sent someone over to help us out and took care of the issue. The pictures speak for themselves as far as the location-just steps to the beach! There were sea turtles at the end of the beach most days which was a nice bonus-they're not bison in Yellowstone so we didn't try to pet or ride them! There is ample outdoor seating on the lanai that was all in like-new condition as well. This was our third time staying with Garden Island Rentals and will definitely be back again. We had rented the same condo the last two trip and this house was well worth the upgrade. We would have already rebooked for next year but we are traveling to Alaska next year, so that will have to wait for 2025.

This rental is near shops, restaurants and great snorkeling and surf beaches. In fact, we actually snorkeled right here a few times. The temperature during our visit was in the mid to upper 80's so appreciated the ac in both bedrooms and the livingroom. Management was wonderful and very responsive.

We had a lovely 6 days at this simple bungalow on Baby Beach. It was comfortably appointed with a balcony from which to watch the sunsets, a large expanse of lawn and direct beach access. Turtles would rest on the beach beneath our bungalow. Quite idyllic.

My family and I enjoyed our time at Hale Kai very much! The house was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was wonderful! You can not beat the gorgeous views & sound of the ocean from all parts of the house. The covered lanai was a favorite spot for my family. The grounds were also beautiful & provided another fun area for play when not on the beach. The provided beach gear was another major plus. Working with Garden Islands was a great experience. We definitely look forward to returning!

This house is right on Baby Beach. We were able to walk out and snorkel and even saw two sea turtles resting on the beach one day. The location was perfect for our family. The management company was amazing. We were greeted with a bouquet of local flowers and a very detailed binder full of information. We had a few issues while staying and they responded immediately and resolved things quickly and with a gracious spirit. As any rental, there are pros and cons. Location is great and house had beach chairs, body boards, beach umbrella and a variety of snorkeling gear (though we chose to rent our own). The house does not have air conditioning which was fine in April, between the winds and ceiling fans we were comfortable in the 70-80 degree weather but if you want AC this might not be the house for you. There was a gecko that got into the house and would chirp but we were assured that it was pretty common. We appreciated a full kitchen and washer and dryer. It's not the most up to date house in terms of style but everything was in good working order. We loved it so much we booked it again for next year! We can't wait to return.

We had an excellent time. The house is modest but has everything you could need including a large selection of beach gear which was not advertised. The property is a very short walk away from a well equipped mall with many restaurants. The beach is perfect for little kids, bring water shoes as it does get rocky pretty quick.

We have been returning year after year for approx..the last 20 years to Hale Kai or one of the other four property's located on this waterfront property. Any time we have had a concern or minor issue the property manager has been very quick to return or call and resolve the concern quickly. Great location and anyone that decided to book their vacation there will not be disappointed. We have already booked for 2023 for our next trip!

We enjoyed everything about our stay in this beautiful beachfront home. It was clean and well supplied with the basics (much more than any other home we've rented). It's right on the beach and perfect for families or couples. Well protected from the wind and large overhang for that 3-5 sun. We had zero problems and were totally pleased with our rental. Already booked for next year.

So glad I rented this house in Kauai! Place was immaculate when we arrived (myself and my 2 daughters), had zero problems with the house while there. Literally steps from the beach... snorkeling right in front of the house... I actually spent most of the vacation sitting on the back porch listening and watching the waves. Absolutely great place to call home when you're in Kauai -- would 100% stay here again.

After a long period of isolation, staying at Hale Kei was just what my husband and I needed. The house is right on Baby beach, which is great for kids as well as snorkeling. Hale Kai was a fantastic house in a beautiful location. The house is exactly as shown on the website, and is perfect for 2 couples or a small family. The beach is right outside the house and is pretty quiet, a lot of locals come to hang out in the afternoons and weekends. More suited to small kids, the water is not really deep enough for swimming, but is great for just a quick dip to cool off and float around a bit. And we had turtles and a seal come and lay around on the beach too. Very cool! It is close to everything on the south shore. Walking distance (2 miles) to Poipu beach and closer to the Sheraton and Marriott beaches and restaurants. The property was clean, and Jenny was on it right away when the barbecue wasn't working. We loved everything about Hale Kai and the area. We would have booked another trip except it's completely booked! Yes we would recommend Hale Kai to anyone!

We could not have loved this home more for our vacation in poipu. The pictures are amazing online but they still don’t do the property justice. It’s beautiful and perfect for a family of 4. We have two small kids and it was idea in every way. We have already booked next year ! We loved it. We had a few small appliance issues that were addressed very quickly and completely resolved. The entire staff was very helpful. We loved it !

The home was just as described. Located on a very private beach with outstanding ocean views. The house itself was well appointed and had been updated. We did have issues with the refrigerator and smoke alarms but the management team were quick to respond and fix. My only suggestion would be to have a few more beach items available to the guests.

Fabulous location on Baby Beach. No place better to be at the beginning and the end of each day on the island...watching the sunrise with coffee and the sunset with a drink. Perfect spot! Only complaint was that the water at baby beach is very shallow and rocky. So spent water time floating, not swimming.

Baby Beach was named as such by locals long ago as it is a shallow area protected by an outer reef and yes there are rocks on the bottom surface once you get out into the water a bit. Perfect for babies and one of the safest beaches on island. It is not meant to be a swimming beach like Poipu Beach, Sheraton Beach or Lawai Bay which are all less than a few minutes away by car. Incredible location! The house is directly on Baby Beach where you can swim, snorkel or just sit on the porch and watch turtles, whales and dolphins. The house is simple and well laid out. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. The beds were the only drawback to this great place. All were uncomfortable. I hate to say anything bad about Hale Kai, but feel it is important. That said, we miss it already and hated leaving.
