Lovely home with great location. Very peaceful atmosphere—the sounds of the waves is hypnotic. Convenient to everything but near the end of the road so it’s quiet & less developed—very near Allerton Gardens & Spouting Horn. House was clean & comfortable. I will return.

Very pleasant experience. Some troubles with the cable TV but overall, quite positive. Roosters and cats and whales to keep you occupied. Recommended!

My husband and I wanted to share the beautiful island of Kauai with our adult children. Kahalekai was a perfect base for our adventures. The set up of the house worked great giving the kids the main house and us the cottage. The lanai was our space to experience beautiful sunrises and sunsets as well as enjoy outside dinners with the sound of waves crashing below. We even saw whales in the distance while spending quality time together as a family. Mahalo for making our 2024 Christmas one to remember for years to come.

Can't get a much better oceanfront location on Poipu. The view is spectacular. However, the house definitely needs some TLC. All of the bedroom blinds need to be replaced. Every bedroom is missing slats on the blinds, with the cottage being the worst of all. It is missing at least 4 or 5 slats making privacy a big issue. Also, very disappointed that not even salt and pepper were provided. Overall, the house has a million-dollar view, but is in dire need of some new blinds.

The ocean views are priceless. The sounds of the ocean waves crashing along the shore right off the lanai/patio area were soothing & peaceful. The free-range local roosters were our alarm clock. The house had comfortable beds for all 7 of us. We would def. consider coming back to this VRBO. There are a few dated finishes in the kitchen area The wooden cabinetry could use an updated re-finish, and the 2 sofas in the family room/relaxing space have seen better days. Everything went smoothly when we needed to reach out to the property management team to replace our broken <br/>K-cup/Keurig coffee maker. Thanks for the fantastic memories made!

We came with an adult family of 6. The house has a main bedroom for parents, a cottage suite for married younger couple and two rooms upstairs for single adults. Right on the water, the sound of the surf, stars at night and other aesthetics were lovely. Kitchen well equipped allowed us to cook together several nights. We were close enough to get to boat tour, helicopter tour, local beach and Waimea canyon within an hour. Na Pali coast was a bit further, but a great day trip

Our family enjoyed the beautiful views from this property. Watching the waves breaking on the rocks just below, occasional sea turtles, outrigger canoe teams, fishing boats and surfers....something to see 24/7, including amazing bright stars at night. Each day we could see whales in the distance, functional binoculars would have been helpful. You will not be let down by the view. And you can literally walk 100 yards up the street to the Spouting Horn, go early and sometimes you'll be the only ones there. The house itself is functionally appointed, but is somewhat dated as its an older home, but the views from all rooms and the spacious lanai are magnificent. There are however a few things that could be done to make guests feel more comfortable, such as functioning blinds without missing panels, baseboard repairs in a few areas, a screen door not staying on track if not careful, a few loose handles here and there, all which would be relatively easy repairs so its surprising they haven't been. All in all we had a wonderful time, the location is amazing!<br/>Mahalo

We had a great stay at this property. Met all our needs. Will mention that when we were cleaning up to check out, some stuff (sock & bottle of vitamins) was found under one of the beds that didn&#x2019;t belong to us. Could have been cleaner for that reason. Also one slider door was very difficult to lock. if raining - definitely watch your step around the garage area leading to back of house. Is slippery.

While there are minor things I would update about the house (mainly the sliding door screens), it was a wonderful place to stay. From the lanai we saw whales every day (even breaching whales) and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It is close to many wonderful beaches and other sights. The first night there was no electricity in one of the bedrooms and the breaker would not switch. When I let the management company know, they fixed it immediately. Having a kitchen was great, so we didn't have to eat out every night. I would absolutely stay here again; it was a perfect set up for our visit, as we had our two daughters and my parents with us.

We really enjoyed our stay in this ocean view home. The size of the home was perfect for our group. Plenty of space to spread out. The house is clean and well stocked for cooking. I thought the upstairs beds were going to be Queen sized, unfortunately each was a full. The house has plenty of fans to help with the air flow. It does get hot, even in December. Parking is wonderful, remember to back in. The house comes with laundry, beach chairs and umbrellas. We enjoyed the covered patio for shade and rain days. The eating area is limited because the table does not have enough room to put food and table ware to eat for our group. We used it for food service and sat outside or on couches. You need bug spray! Homeowner should do a walk thru inspection regarding condition of window screens, window treatments, furniture both inside and out. We had plenty of towels and soap. <br/>Property management was excellent in communication. Gold stars to them!!

The waves sounded like they were in the bedroom with you. Sleep was great. We took amazing wedding pictures the morning before my son got married in the Gardens. I was so glad we were staying here. The pictures turned out amazing. Love this house! Its in a great location.

This is our 5 time staying at this wonderful home! Like other reviews the views are amazing and are able walk down to the tide pools to discover all the Marine Life! An added bonus is the cottage which makes you feel you feel like you are sleeping on the beach! All the beds have very comfortable new mattress. <br/>Garden Island Rentals goes out of their way to make your stay so perfect! We highly recommend this rental. The location is perfect for both privacy and access to town. Finding a location right on the water at this price is rare, especially when it&#x2019;s as comfortable and well-appointed as this. The guesthouse was a special treat for the couple in our group with a small child. Overall, the place is much better than even the description.

We stayed here the second week of October 2019, great location, walking distance to a small beach and a few minutes drive to the larger southside beaches. Almost across the street from the National Tropical Botannical Gardens, and about 100 yards from the Spouting Horn Park. Beds were comfortable, excellent furniture outside and in, plenty of beach chairs (good Tommy Bahama ones) and boogie boards in the garage. Very few problems at all. Several of the sliding screen doors do not lock, meaning you have to lock the sliding glass doors at night (was robbed in Poipu in 2015). This was a problem because of the record heat the week we were there (not forecast). The upstairs bedrooms were fine with the A/C, but the downstairs master and the cottage guest house were miserable. I had to buy more two fans at Home Depot and add them to other pedestal fans in the master (FIVE total including the ceiling fan) to make it somewhat bearable.<br/><br/>This is no reflection on the property whatsoever, but if you're from a state which is dry (like AZ), remember there's no AC in the cottage (guest house), master bedroom, kitchen, or family room (whole downstairs).<br/><br/>Overall (except for the absolutely awful weather that week) it was a great stay and great property!

This house was absolutely perfect! The views were incredible, the home was spacious, the kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils and plenty of fans (as there is no ac). The location is also convenient to everything. Can&#x2019;t wait to go back and visit again.

Our second time here and loved it as much as the first. What a wonderful location-private and beautiful. Happy to just sit on the lanai when possible. Everything we needed was available to us. Nothing to complain about whatsoever. Office staff very helpful and lovely to work with.
